History of Langley

 

Langley is a scenic “small town”  in the rolling foothills of the Ozarks located within Mayes County in northeastern Oklahoma, about sixty miles from Tulsa. Langley is bordered on the south and east by the waters of Grand Lake O' The Cherokees and Grand River.  Langley is traversed by Oklahoma Hi-ways 28 & 82 and only 15 miles from Interstate 44.  The Town consists of approximately 1.2 square miles of area.

Form of Government
The Town of Langley is administered under a Statutory Town Board of Trustees form of government.  The  Board of Trustees consist of five (5) trustees who are elected at large, one of which is chosen Mayor by the Board.    A Treasurer and Clerk are also elected at large as officers of the Town.

Town Elections are held biennially, odd years, on Tuesday after the first Monday in April. Officials take office on May 1st.

The Board of Trustees meet on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm at the Town Hall.
